D2 Survivors save transfer
I reconciled the FAQ wording with changelog builds 20261018.5, 20261019.1, 20261022.3, and 20261024.2, plus a written import walkthrough. The menu name changed. I am keeping both names.
Where the save actually lives
A browser save sits in that browser's storage for that site. An app save sits in the app folder. They are not a cloud account. Change browser, profile, device, or domain, and the save does not come with you. Private windows and a full storage quota drop it too. Safari can delete the site data after a week without a visit, which build 20261020.3 mentions.
You can export a code or a file and open that text on a phone to read it. That is not a supported way to play. The FAQ still says phones are not supported.
SAVES, and the older Transfer Save label
The current main menu label is SAVES. It exports and imports a file or a code. The FAQ still says Options → Transfer Save. If you do not see one label, look for the other. Both refer to the same job.
A practical order, taken from the written walkthrough and the changelog: on the source machine, Esc, Save and exit, wait for the main menu, then export. On the destination, export the existing save first so you have a backup. Import, read the replacement summary, then replace. Continue, and check the hero, level, build, gold, and gear.
What Continue keeps
Automatic save starts in build 20261019.1. From build 20261022.3, Continue restarts at the beginning of the current act. The act restarts as it began: progress gained inside that act is at risk until the act ends. Do not assume mid-act levels, gold or drops will be retained. Death is a separate rollback: Terror removes 10 percent of the level's experience, and on Normal, Nightmare, and Hell a death sends you back to the previous Baal checkpoint. Build 20261022.3 also says a Terror death drops the tier by one. The quoted experience penalty is from the official changelog alone; this is not a lossless save or death.
Browser backups exist from build 20261024.2. They are not a cloud save. Cross-device and cross-version imports were not verified by the guide that published the four steps. Edited saves are rejected by the leaderboard. The items get a red frame, and the You page gives a reason. Save and Exit asks for confirmation every time as of build 20261027.3.
Questions
How do I transfer a browser save to the PC app?
Export from SAVES, or from Options → Transfer Save, then import on the app. Back up the destination save first.
Does Continue resume mid-act?
Not after build 20261022.3. You restart at the start of that act. The changelog says it restarts as the act began, so gains made during that act are not guaranteed to remain.
Can I edit the save?
Edited saves are refused by the leaderboard. Items show a red frame. This site does not publish an editor.

Source scope: the developer's FAQ, changelog, client and leaderboards are one publisher, not independent corroboration. Build-specific figures and leaderboard numbers without an explicit external corroboration are single-source records at the date above. A video title alone does not verify numbers inside the video.
